team rocking at worlds

well holy smokes the boys and girls have been rocking at worlds!!! ali world champ, tp silver, mens tp bronze and hash still to ride tonight our time its been awesome to watch!!
of course its been amazingly disappointing not to be there, but looking back on the track season i can safely say work took up way too much of my time and training suffered massively, trying to train while working 40-50 hours a week was a struggle and it showed. my hand was kind of forced though by being in a bit of credit card debt, and after rocking that crit in singapore and a couple more 55 hour weeks last few weeks im finally out of debt-and absolutely loving it!!
so works going to take a bit more of a back seat after next week, and training will pick up again.
so its finally time to sit down and work out where i want to head and what i want to do, and i definately dont want to give up on the track yet, far from it to be honest, after looking back at how much i worked etc and with more time on my hand, im really looking forward to getting a big base under my belt in the coming months and getting stuck back into it, as i still am amazingly hungry and think i need to prove a few things to myself as well, plus commonwealth games are just round the corner, so theres alot of things out there to aim at big time.
in other news i have found a place and shift on wednesday, so that will be good, bit sad to be bringing the time at the ranch out here in redcliffs to an end, but im pretty sure i will be a frequent visitor up the hill to rewis new pad, especially now with dave “chopper” cresswell back in town there may be a few more nights of playing up before settling down.
im off to be very grown up and purchase a washing machine!!!! i think i actually owned a fridge at one point as well, but im buggared if i know where thats gone, maybe ill write my name on this so i dont lose it

all quiet on the western front

its been all quiet for me for the last two weeks, been pulling 55 hours a week at work, been trying to train after that which hasnt gone so well so been taking it pretty easy, so hopefully work will ease off next week and ill get out the door more often, but i havnt got too much on the cycling front in the next two weeks so i might just keep banking a bit more money and plan my wee trip to america.

i havnt quite worked out all the details yet but i dont think i can train here through another winter, and i kinda miss racing in the states, so its time to head on back and catch up with the crew over there i reckon.

got another round of the benchmark series tomorrow, 160km jaunt around the gravel roads of canterbury, its rained today, and is meant to rain tomorrow as well, so it will be another mud fest like last year, where it took a full week for my eyes to come right after getting that much crap flicked into them.

also in other news, i found a house today to shift into, our time out here at the beach in the castle has come to an end, with the lease up next week. so ive shifted closer into town into the posh suberb of merivale hahaha, which should be a laugh, it will mean alot more training options for me instead of having to head over that bastard causeway everyday, and also heaps closer to work so its a bit of a win win situation i think, plus rewi has decided to live at the top of pretty much the steepest street in the world, and i just cant handle biking up there everyday hahahah.

now that ive found a place to live ill get on here a bit more often, was a bit stressful trying to get it sorted and get it signed up, it took a full day today to sort it out so its like a massive weight off my shoulders, which is mint, cause hopefully that’ll mean i wont sink into the mud as deep tomorrow hah

nationals etc

well nationals went pretty sweet, i didnt have a great ride in the individual pursuit but knocked it up in everything else, including a surprise silver in the keiran, so i’ve come to the conclusion, im probably the only cyclist in the world to claim a medal in the road race and keiran in the same calander year. boom. i cant be assed researching this huge claim, so its probably correct.
now im back into the real world of working, and racing, and sorting out a hopeful belgium campaign this year, and maybe hopefully a foray into america as well, so that will be brilliant!!
right now there is a huge storm outside, its time for red wine and house and my favourite show of boston legal. excellent

easy day

finally got an easy day at camp, which is nice, just a nice gentle two hours this morning dodging the rain and now its relax time. im going to run myself through a couple of trials tomorrow to see what gear to run for big wednesday at the track nationals, so that will be good.
its been bloody freezing down here since we’ve been here, riding with gloves etc, i thought this place was meant to have a summer?? but clearly we were all wrong.
