home is so good
yep.
its official, home is great. got a great flat, the weather is mint, its meant to be winter and i was training in 19 deg yesterday with a clear blue sky, and it looks like the same today. the nor’wester is picking up a bit, but wind isnt so bad when its warm, and it beats the cold hands down.
i counted up the days i had spent in the rain in the uk racing and training this season, and have totalled it up at 35 days in the wet since the start of april to the middle of july. so you can see i was kinda over riding in the rain in a big way!!!
news is filtering through that gordy has got himself a ride at the tt at worlds, and good luck to him with that, hes been tt’ing his nuts off in the uk and did medal in the comm games so hope he rips it up in germany
im heading back up to blenheim tonight, got a few more things to pick up from my folks place, then into the whatamonga 3 stage tour tomorrow, just a wee club race but the middle stage is a 10km tt, the last 5km is up the whatamonga hill, gets up to just about 400-500m in height, so its a steep bastard, and i hate it. graeme miller who grew up in blenheim nicknamed it whatamongrel, and i think it will be.
got confirmed in the nz team yesterday for the suntour, which will be sweet, and should be a good boost leading into the tour of southland and more importantly the oceanias a week after that, so all guns blazing from now i guess.
had an absolutely jank way of travelling home, when my travel agent said i can book you through dubai to auckland i said fine, that sounds great! so got on the plane in london to dubai, got there sweet, and thats were the fun started, my wonderful travel agent had booked me from london-dubai, dubai-singapore, singapore-brisbane, brisbane-auckland, let me tell you when i got to auckland i was dead set knackered. why she did that to me i have no idea, maybe i forgot to deliver her a paper one day when i had a paper round when i was really young. paybacks a bitch as they say!!
