ah the sickness

this is basically a photo of me the other night at the rochdale gp crit.
i felt pretty ratshit the morning when i woke up, went for a spin with jimmy mac and jack to loosen the legs up before the drive down and still felt average.
tried very hard to stay positive and cracked jokes before the race and convinced myself i would come right after a few laps. well it was just one of those crits where it wasnt going to happen and ended up suffering majorly for the whole crit. it wasnt pretty and wasnt fun. had no gas and try as i might couldnt really do too much so ended up wombling around and only very occasionally got to the front. on the way home i was coughing like a mofo and now have a great chest infection so am on the good old anti-biotics so should hopefully be right by tomorrow. im now pretty sure everyone on the team has had this chest infection, i think it started way back with gordy and biggsy getting hold of it after our manager was sick i think. ah well, easy coffee shop spins for a few days wont hurt and havnt got any racing on this weekend so no stressing. i think im going to do it properly as well. normally when i get sick i just overload on just about any multi-vitamin i can find and no doubt have given myself liver damage. im prone to looking at a label and seeing “recommended daily dosage 1 tablet” then i get it into my head that if one works, then 10 must be bloody awesome and ill get better quicker. i dont think it works so i might just actually ride this one out properly this time and take the anti-biotics normally. plus its pissing rain outside and wimbledons on tv so i think ill be far better indoors rugged up watching that today. maybe ill start taking too many multi-vits tomorrow
also a big “nice work” shout to dan schmatz whos going to be a dad. brilliant
