waiting for the postman

well, im at the mercy of royal mail again. stuck waiting for my new frame to turn up in the post. it was meant to be here on the courier at 10am this morning so i could build it up this morning, but i just dont think its going to be delivered today or probably tomorrow. hopefully tomorrow. so what have i done on this day where im waiting? well, ive checked my emails about 15 times, checked my bank accounts 3 times, done all the dishes, folded all the washing, put 2 more loads of washing on, made both the beds up in the flat with new sheets, put new cleats on my shoes, caught up on replying to emails, checked them again for the 16th or so time, stripped my old frame of the SRMS and everything else that has to be swapped across, put grease on the carpet whilst doing that, cleaned the grease up, and now im doing this. ive also drunk a boatload of coffee and now have a headache.

we had an ok weekend of racing, on the saturday we had the hillingdon gp, raced round the same circuit we normally do on tuesdays, but for the gp we go round the circuit the opposite way which makes it alot easier, the sprint is at the end of a long straight instead of at the top of the climb(well, drag, but when you sprint up it it feels like a climb). Everything went pretty well untill the last lap and a half of the race and we suffered a communication breakdown and only came away from the race with 3rd, which we were all disspointed with.

the next day we moved onto Brentwood for a town centre crit, which wasnt the best of circuits with a dead hairpin bend at the top after which the finish line was 150m away back down the straight. i was feeling ok warming up until my bike decided to be naughty and had a malfunction, so with 2min before we started i had to jump on biggsys bike for the race, i got the seat height about right but i think it was a bit low but what can you do in such a short time. we also have our brakes set up the opposite ways from each other so i just about laid it down going into the hairpin when i grabbed a big handfull of what i thought was front brake to slow down when somebody cut me up but only to fully lock up the rear and go into the corner like a superbike with the foot out, fun, but not amazingly safe or great for the cleat. the race dwindled down the pack through attrition and gordy got himself into the move of the day and got 4th and a whole bunch of points to move himself very close to the series lead which is mint.

theres not a whole lot else to report, i need to go into town to do some banking and buy a dirty big cresent so i can rip the bottom bracket out of my bike but cant really leave the house incase i miss the courier, which would really suck. its one of those murphys law situations where if i dont leave nothing will happen, but if i do try to do something productive outside, they will come and wont leave my package without my signature then ill have to chase it all over town tomorrow which isnt fun. sigh, maybe ill put some more coffee on, paint something and find more clothes to put through the wash.
